Hello,

My printer is connected to my home's wi-fi and on my laptop it says all is working (image below). But for some reazon it doens't allow me to scan or print anything from my laptop. The most strange is that in some days it works perfeclty well, in other days I need to restart everything (laptop, printer, wi-fi router) and some days happens this.

Does anyone have the same issue? Any ideas to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Can you try using a TCP/IP port?

Create a TCP IP port

1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address (you can also tap on the wireless icon on the Front panel of your Printer to get the IP address)
2. On your PC, go to Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, right click the printer and left click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.
3. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.
4. Type in the proper IP address for the printer.

This video resource will show you how to do it:

Create & Use TCP IP port

Note that you can ALWAYS revert back to the original port that the HP software installed by selecting the HP port under the Ports tab (in Printer Properties)

Hope that helps!

Hi,

Many thanks for your reply. I followed all the steps but unfortunately the laptop doesn't find my printer on the correspondent IP address.

Do you have any solution for this?

Thank you

Hi @Rpereira

Is the printer connected wirelessly?  If it is, can you try to key in the IP address into a web browser and see if ti's able to find it?

If it's able to find it, can you try the steps again to create a TCP/IP port?

Thanks.

Hi Greenturtle,

Thank you for your reply.

I know the printer is Connected wirelessly because the report from the printer says that and also because when I access the router settings through the IP address the printer appears there (image below). But when I try the printers' IP address on a web page (192.168.1.4) doesn't work (image below).

Any idea to resolve this?

Hi @Rpereira

Can you try to use a different browser or update the browers (e.g. Google Chrome updates)?

If all else fails, would suggest that you try to uninstall and reinstall again.

Hope that helps!

Thanks.

Hi Greenturtle,

I tried Firefox, Chrome and Edge, in everyone happened the same. I also uninstall and install again twice following the steps on video you sent.

The frustrating is that the printer works fine sometimes (worked after sent my reply yesterday) and others not, it is not reliable..

Any idea??

Thank you.

Also, try to disable IPV6 to see if it helps on your issue:

Hope that helps!
