Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Microsoft Windows 11

Purchased HP laser jet M234dw in March.  After setting up wireless system, have printed and copied documents with any problems.  Today for the 1st time, I needed to scan a document.  The scan function did not work.  Had already downloaded HP Smart app on my desktop computer.  When I pressed "scan" option, it said that it couldn't find the printer/scanner.

(I did test print and copy from the printer today).

The HP AI bot gave a list of instructions.  I checked all those suggestions.  Nothing worked.  Next I was connected to a chat person who said I needed to download HP Scan and also gave a list of other instructions.  I downloaded the software, and the scan function still doesn't work.

Trying one more time here.  If not I'll return it as still in the warranty period.  Very disappointing unless a breathing person can advise a solution.  Thanks.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with scanning on your HP LaserJet M234dw printer. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Ensure Printer is Powered On and Connected:

  • Make sure your printer is powered on and connected to the same wireless network as your computer.

Check HP Smart App Connection:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your desktop.
  • Make sure your printer is listed and shown as connected.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your printer and your computer to reset any potential connection issues.

Ensure Scan to Computer is Enabled:

  • In the HP Smart app, ensure that the "Scan to Computer" feature is enabled.
  • For Windows: Open the HP printer software, go to the Scan section, and select "Manage Scan to Computer." Click "Enable."
  • For macOS: Open HP Utility, and under Scan Settings, click "Scan to Computer." Ensure that "Enable Scan to Computer" is selected.

Update Printer Firmware and Software:

  • Ensure that both your printer firmware and the HP Smart app are updated to the latest version.
  • You can check for firmware updates from the HP Smart app or by visiting HP support.

Use HP Scan Software (Windows):

  • Load the document you wish to scan on the scanner glass.
  • Open the HP Printer software, go to Scan, and select "Scan a Document or Photo."
  • Adjust the settings if necessary and click "Scan."

Webscan via Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Open a web browser and enter your printer’s IP address to access the Embedded Web Server.
  • Go to the Settings tab, click Administrator Settings, and enable Webscan.
  • Load your original document, go to the Scan tab in EWS, and use Webscan to perform the scan.

Check Network and Firewall Settings:

  • Verify that your network setup is correct and that there is no firewall blocking communication

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
