The original topic was locked - so I will continue here.

I followed all the steps for a root uninstall and a reinstall of the software.  But the problem still persists.  I keep getting the scanner failure message over and over.

I can sometime print (one time) from the computer.  But then the red light comes back on with the message of scanner failure.  So in order to print again, I have to turn off the power and then back on again.

Also, I cannot make copies.  Another issure is getting the print preview to work permanently.  Previously, I had it set up to constantly show the print preview.  Now, I can only get the preview if I manually go to that section before each print and click in the box.

Greetings!

Welcome back to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand there's an issue while scanning or making a copy.

Appreciate you trying the steps suggested previously. Don't worry, I'm here to help!

Let's try these steps -

1) Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent.
3) With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 60 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

If the issue still persists, this would confirm a hardware issue. I have sent you a private message with the information to contact the Phone Support team in your region. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it. Hope this helps!

Let me know how that goes.
