Replaced my printer/scanner with new HP6968. Connected with iPhone and iPad fine but when I tried to use my Mac computer to scan message says “printer not connected” 

. I typed in new HP6968 and in location typed in IP address but continue to get same message. Mac is OS X El Capitan version. How do I get this computer to connect (wirelessly) to this new printer.?

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

 

Can you go to www.hp.com and install the software with the HP Easy Start?

 

This resource (example) will hsow you how it's done:

 

macOS X 10 11 El Capitan Download and Install Software using HP Easy Start

 

 

 

Do note that you would need to connect your printer to the network first:

 

Connecting a printer using Wireless Setup Wizard  (OLD UI)
