Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. My printer informs me that my 4 x 6 photo paper tray is empty...it isn't. But when I put the paper in upside down its ok and will print, but of course on the wrong side.

I have tried putting in 1 sheet, several sheets. But only with the paper upside down will it accept that there is paper in the tray.

Its not HP paper but I have used other makes before. This is Tesco paper. One side is glossy the other dull.

Any one with any ideas?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Try updating the Printer firmware: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Also, try the steps from here: https://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/hp-envy-5640-e-all-in-one-printer-series/6583033/model/6658165/... and https://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/hp-envy-5640-e-all-in-one-printer-series/6583033/model/6658165/...

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!
