HP Envy 6155e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

HP Envy 6155e printer. Connected to computer w/ USB cord. HP downloaded scanning software. Scanning worked from printer---was able to scan and save as PDF in computer (monitor screen) desktop. A week later, unable to scan from printer, except twice (while on hold with HP support) was able to scan as Everyday scan. Other times while on hold unable to scan from computer as Everyday scan, PDF scan, JPEG scan, etc.  HP support repeated download of driver(s), had me again unplug and plug in printer, restart computer. Now instead of printer screen showing several choices as where to scan to (PDF, JPEG, Everyday, Cloud, email, etc.) it gives only 2 choices.  Time spent w/ HP support 3.5 hours. Tips from computer-savvy friend in Norway helped. I did something so that I could again at least scan from the printer, but still only two choices from the printer: scan to email or scan to cloud.  Called my local Tech2U co for free diagnostics; he thought driver issue or configuration issue. I called my Cox Complete Care tech support. First person did not know about installing drivers, after another 2 hours of going through ideas and remote accessed support /w Tech2U and Cox Complete care, and my Norwegian friends troubleshooting ideas, called Cox again. Now tech said she knows about installing drivers. But still printer only scans to email or to Cloud. HOW CAN I GET THE PRINTER TO ONCE AGAIN OFFER SEVERAL CHIOCES OF WHERE TO SCAN TO WHEN SCANNING FROM THE PRINTER? I have spent ~ 7+ hours on this over 3 days. I can scan from the computer, but scanning from the printer is generally easier and less prone to add to carpal tunnel. (Now if someone replies, I hope I can figure out how to access their on-line reply.....)

@MolecBiol, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Printer Screen

On the printer, go to the Scan menu.

Ensure you're not limited to only Email or Cloud.

Make sure options like PDF, JPEG, and Scan to Computer are visible.

Reinstall Drivers

Go to HP’s website: HP Envy 6155e Drivers.

Download the latest full-feature software for your printer.

Install it and restart your computer.

Check HP App Software

Open HP App on your computer.

Go to Printers > Settings > Scan.

Make sure Scan to Computer is enabled.

Reset Printer

On the printer, go to Settings and look for Restore Factory Defaults.

Reset the printer, then reconnect it to your computer.

Enable Scan-to-Computer

In HP App, go to Manage Scan to Computer.

Turn it ON, and restart the printer and your computer.

Check Windows Settings

Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.

Make sure your printer is listed and set as default.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
