Hi,

I've found an exclamation mark on the small LCD screen. So I have run a Printer Status Report. On the product information, I notice Item 24. Scanner Glass Test: not run. Maybe this is causing the exclamation report. Any ideas on how I can run a scanner Glass Test guys?

@Gwegory, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

The information 'i' icon will be on the printer screen as default. This is not a matter of concern.

To check the scanner bar functionality:

Perform a visual test of the scanner mechanism to see if it is jammed.

  1. Remove any original documents or photos from the scanner glass.
  2. Lift the scanner lid slightly, and then press the Copy button or icon.

If the scanner light does not move or moves halfway or is not lit, the scanner mechanism is likely jammed/broken.

For more info on errors on the printer, refer to - Blinking Lights

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!

Hi Kumar0307

Trev here, thanks for the information. The  LCD info is displaying an ! exclamation. The handbook says it's a Problem: Check the HP software.20211212_125313.jpg

Are you able to print fine?

Do you see any issues with the printer functionality?

Did you try making a copy and check if that works?

Keep me posted.

Dear Kumar,

Yes, the printer works. My issue is with the information displayed in the LCD screen. According to the manual, the software is in an error state? as can be seen in the photo above.

I understand your concern, but the printer is not in an error state. Only if the information button light is blinking, it means we will have to check the printer status or print the info page to check the information.

Also, if the printer is in an error state, there will be a combination of lights that blinks. Refer to the document attached in my previous post.

Dear Kumar,

Yes I understand the blinking lights warnings. We seem to be straying from the subject of the Exclamation Mark as mentioned in your Reference and Support document for the 4122e series. I am attaching a scan from the printer:
