Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I cannot scan with my printer, I went through the Doctor process to download drivers etc, then I am told to download HP Smart from the Microsoft store, which I duly did, when it tells me to "OPEN" the blue circle just keeps spinning forever and a day!

Would appreciate your help, I have an oldish printer, but it works well up to this point, I dont want to go and buy another one & maybe I will have the same issue?
