Hi @Lani1234,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP ENVY 6000 series printer is able to print but not scan, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Basic Troubleshooting Steps:

Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve communication issues between the computer and the printer.

Check Connections: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer via USB cable or over the network (if using Wi-Fi).

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Go to the HP Support website (HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads) and enter your printer model number (ENVY 6000 series).
  • Download and install the latest drivers and software for your printer. Make sure to select the correct operating system (Windows 10 32-bit).

HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • HP provides a diagnostic tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor. Download and run this tool from the HP website. It can automatically diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems.
  • Here’s the link to download HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor

Check Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service:

  • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type services.msc and press Enter to open the Services window.
  • Scroll down to find the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service.
  • Right-click on it and select Restart. If it's not running, right-click and select Start.

Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Sometimes, security software can block communication with the printer. Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus and check if scanning works.

Check Default Scanner:

  • Open Control Panel on your computer.
  • Go to Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP ENVY 6000 series printer and select Scan Properties or Scanner Actions.
  • Ensure that your printer is set as the default scanner.

Reinstall Printer:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP ENVY 6000 series printer and select Remove device.
  • Reinstall the printer using the latest drivers downloaded from the HP website.

Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows 10 operating system is up to date. Sometimes, updates can include fixes for printer and scanner issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
