We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

My HP LaserJet MFP225dw connects and works fine with my PC (and my iPhone) when asked to print, but when asked to scan, I first get "device cannot be reached" and if i retry I get "scanner busy" from there on out. The display on the printer shows this message: "Scanning to computer" until i delete it. I did the unplug/restart routine and ran the doctor app, which found a problem but could not fix it and referred me to HP Support. Here I am! The printer is on my Wifi network and in the same room with the router. In short, the PC sees it for printing but oddly not for scanning (in one sense, but not in the other ). Can anyone help, please? This must have happened to others.

@Volunteer47, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

I understand you are not able to scan. To assist you better, which app are you using to scan?

Are you using the HP Smart app?

 

Try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

 

Check the scanner bar functionality

 

Perform a visual test of the scanner mechanism to see if it is jammed.

  1. Remove any original documents or photos from the scanner glass.
  2. Lift the scanner lid slightly, and then press the Copy button or icon.
