Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

macOS 10.15 Catalina

I have tried Apple Image Capture, HP Easy Scan, and ReadIris.  All work, to some degree, for flatbed scans.  All fail, solidly, for ADF scanning.  HP Easy Scan happily tells the ADF to feed the originals through, and sounds like it's scanning them, but does not  show or create any documents.

I also have Hamrick VueScan installed, but it at least TELLS ME that it doesn't support the ADF.

I have followed the instructions found elsewhere on this board to delete my HP drivers, and any preferences or system extensions with HP in the name, before re-installing, and to make sure my copy of Catalina is up to date before doing so.  That took a lot of time, but didn't improve things at all.

@eclecticmagpie, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Ensure that the ADF is functional by making photocopies on the printer. If it works fine, try the solutions below, and then try to add your printer to HP Easy Scan.

  • Update HP Easy Scan: Open HP Easy Scan. On the upper bar, click HP Easy Scan, click Check for Updates, and then install any available updates.

  • Reinstall the print drivers: Click the Apple menu , click System Preferences, and then click Printers and Scanners. Right-click or control-click the blank space in the list of printers, and then click Reset printing system. After resetting the printing system, go to 123.hp.com, search for your printer, and then install the recommended software.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
