Hello:

I can't scan from the OfficeJet Pro 6978  to Mac (Sonoma 14.2.1)

 

I downloaded from HP website the "Install HP Easy Start" which downloaded the "HP Easy Scan" program. Although this has allowed me to print documents it does not allow me to scan documents from the printer to the Mac computer (Sonoma 14.2.1).

 

I tried to download the HP Officejet 6950/6960/Pro 6960/Pro 6970 All-in-One Printer series Firmware Update , but it is not possible to download it.

 

The window in the printer when trying to scan says:

No computer found

To scan to a computer, make sure that the scanning software has been installed and configured on your computer

If the printer is not compatible with your current OS, this could cause an issue. 

 

General Troubleshooting Steps:

Check Network Connection:

  • Make sure that your printer and the Apple devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Verify that the printer is online and has a stable connection.

 

Troubleshooting Mac Printing:

Remove and Re-add the Printer on Mac:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Remove the HP printer from the list and then re-add it by clicking the '+' button.
  • Select the printer from the list and add it.

Check Print Queue:

  • Open the Printers & Scanners preferences.
  • Select your HP printer and click on "Open Print Queue."
  • Check if there are any stuck print jobs. Remove them and try printing again.

 

Sonoma OS Specific:

Update to the Latest Version:

  • Check if there are any updates for the Sonoma OS on your Mac and install them. Apple frequently releases updates to address bugs and improve compatibility.

Hello:

I did all of what you suggested, but it didn't help.

The scanner does not work, neither from pressing the button "scan" in the printer, nor by pressing"scan" in the computer (window that opens in the application "HP Easy Scan" ( modified January 17, 2024).
