Operating System: macOS 12.0 Monterey

I downloaded the HP Smart App for the purpose of scanning. when I open the Smart app, I'm given many options of things to do. Printing is one of them. When I click print through the app, I can print anything I want no problem. When I click the scan option, it tells me that my printer is offline. When I try to add a new printer, it does not let me. I just need to scan something.
