Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

I have two computers on the same network going to my router along with my HP printer. I installed HP App on both computers but one can`t find the printer. I tried everything with no luck. I believe the problem must be in the second computer because the first computer works perfectly with HP App and my printer. The second computer will print without using HP App, but when I try using HP App it can`t find the computer. Please help, going crazy.

Hi @hammer2035,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating this situation is, especially since the printer works perfectly from one computer, but the HP App / HP Smart cannot find the printer on the second computer, even though basic printing works. This clearly confirms: The network and printer are OK

The issue is specific to the second computer and the HP App connection, not the printer

Below are the correct HP‑recommended steps to resolve this.

Step 1: Set the network to Private (VERY important)

On the second computer only:

  1. Go to Settings → Network & Internet
  2. Click Wi‑Fi (or Ethernet if wired)
  3. Click your connected network
  4. Set the network profile to Private

HP App will not discover printers on a Public network.

Step 2: Temporarily disable firewall/antivirus (test)

Some security software blocks HP discovery services.

  1. Temporarily disable:
    • Third‑party antivirus
    • Third‑party firewall (if installed)
  2. Restart the PC
  3. Open the HP App and check if the printer appears

If the printer appears, add HP App as an exception in your security software.

Step 3: Remove ALL HP software from the second computer

This ensures a clean setup.

  1. Go to Settings → Apps → Installed apps
  2. Uninstall everything starting with “HP”
    • HP App / HP Smart
    • HP Printer software
    • HP Utilities
  3. Restart the computer

Step 4: Reinstall HP App (clean install)

  1. Download the HP App from HP’s official page: HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site
  2. Install and open the HP App
  3. Sign in (optional)
  4. Click Add / Set up a printer
  5. Make sure the printer is:
    • Powered ON
    • Connected to the same Wi‑Fi network

⚠️ Do not use “Add printer manually” unless prompted.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
