We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

When I Try to scan a document and attach it to an email to send to my son,

up comes the following message:

This HP scan application is unable to open your email application &/or cannot attach the scan to a new email.

Please check your email configuration and try again.

 But I don't know how to do that.

Can anyone help me?

Hi,

Do you have a mail client such as MS Outlook installed and configured on your PC?

 

When right clicking any PDF file on your PC as example, and selecting Send To > Mail Recipient, would it open your mail client?

Thanks for your email, but it is when I click on the send the PDF scan to a mail recipient, that the error mentioned previously comes up.

The HP Scan responsibility is to scan a file and attach it to a new message dialog, same as the send to action does.

 

As performing the same action from your operating system fails with the same error, that means the problem relies with the mail client itself, nothing much to do with the HP software.

 

Wha email client do you have installed?

 

If you have MS Outlook I suggest contacting Microsoft support, as soon as the mail client issue will be resolved you’ll be able to directly Scan and launch a new message from the HP software too.

After the Windows 10 Creator installation I was no longer able to scan from my HP PhotoSmart 7525 directly to an Outlook email.

 

 I was able to resolve the by  repairing the Microsoft Office configuration. 

 

Here are the steps I used to resolve the problem:

 

1.  Open the  Control Panel by clicking the circle to the right of the Windows icon on the task and typing Control Panel in the box

2. When the Control Panel opens choose Programs and Features in the far right colume

3. When Program and Features opens  locate Microsoft Office version X (mine is Office 2010 Professional) and click on it

4. Click on YES to remove or change an application

5. Click on Change and initiate a repair of the installation.

 

I am now back to scanning to my Outlook email.  I hope it works for you as well.
