Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

I have an HP LaserJet MFP M130fn printer and had a laptop with Windows 10 having no problems with printing and scanning via LAN. I got a new laptop with windows 11 and now there are times that I can print just fine, there are times that Windows say Printer is not available, even though it is turned on, connected to the network and HP Software reffers it is ready. Some times I can scan just fine, some times HP scanner software states that the device is not found. The old laptop can print and scan fine when the new one cannot. Both laptops have the latest available driver. I contacted with HP Greece and could not find the origin of the problem. They suggested using NAPS2 for scanning, but it faces the same issue some times as well. So, I am here asking two questions:

1) Is there any other driver that I could use?

2) Is there any other users with the same problem? If so, how did you fixed it?

Hi  @JonhStergiou,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  it must be to have your printer and scanner work intermittently on your new Windows 11 laptop, especially when everything was smooth on Windows 10.

Just to narrow down the issue kindly confirm the below details :

When the printer shows as “not available,” do you notice if the IP address of the printer changes on your network?

Are both laptops connected to the same Wi‑Fi band (2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz)?

Do you see the same issue if you connect the printer directly via USB to the Windows 11 laptop?

Here are a few  steps you can try :

Assign a static IP to the printer through its control panel or router settings. This prevents Windows from losing track of it when the IP changes.

Run the HP App tool on your Windows 11 laptop. It can automatically detect and fix many connectivity issues.

Check Windows Firewall settings to ensure HP software and scanning services are allowed through.

Update the printer firmware from HP’s support website https://support.hp.com/ , not just the driver. Firmware updates often resolve compatibility issues with newer operating systems.

Test with USB connection to confirm if the issue is purely network-related.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.

Yes, both laptops are corrected via the 5GHz band. The printer is connected with utp cable. When windows 11 can't see the printer, HP software can see it (say it is ready), the ip of the printer is not changing, I have set it in printer's settings years ago, arp -a cmd includes printer's ip and ping runs fine. I have already checked for firmware update, nothing new pops up. The only thing you mentioned and needs investigation is the the AV software. The old laptop has ESET Smart security and the new one has pre-installed McAfee. I will give it a try.
