I'm trying figure out the easiest and most secure way to set up the new printer for scan to email. Our ISP is Comcast and in the old days with our old printer, I would just choose smtp.comcast.net since we were with comcast, they would allow it until a few years ago when they stopped allowing that without a user name and password. The printer was old and didn't have an option for that so I stopped using the feature all together. I also realized that it was probably a huge mistake to do it that way as the emails were probably not encrypted.

So now I'm not sure how to go about it. I have a 3rd party email server that I get from our web host but would I need to get the printer its own email address and password or can I just use my own mail account? My fear if I use my own is that every time someone scans a document it would pop up on my sent folder on my email client. First of all does that happen and if so, is there a way to prevent it?
