January 2019 and this issue is happening to me upon the initial set up. i.e. I JUST enabled Web Services, JUST verified and setup Google Drive app for the first time and the Scan option is not available. So not sure I want to go through the whole factory-reset-and-set-everything-on-this-printer-up-again-BS.

 

No other options or replies from HP on this?

I recommend you upgrade the printer firmware using the steps mentioned in this link: Click here for instructions.

Trying to follow these instructions to update the firmware, not much success. Will figure ito how to update the firmware. Currently running a 477fdw fw datecode 20180201.

@CBert71 I see that your device has a firmware upgrade available, Click here to download the same (You may Click here for reference) I suggest you select either of the two options to install the firmware from the control panel or the computer using the article I shared earlier and go step by step to make things easier.

Thanks. I've managed to sucessfully upgrade the firmware remotely, but will need to wait until this evening to be able to check the actual front panel and see if the scan to Google Drive option is there (and/or re-run the Google setup). But can confirm at this point that I am sitting at Firmware Datecode: 20190113.

Will try to report back later this evening.
