Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).
Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

If HP wants to "help the community" it will provide very simple links, instructions and so on (things that should have been done before releasing the product) about how to scan with the HP 3632 Deskjet Printer.  Right now, if I want to scan, I have to go through a TON of rigamarole to find a process that will work.  My first time doing this, I found a set of instructions from a woman who said she was in her 70's (I think) and that she wasn't a computer expert.  Regrettably, I did not save her instructions.  This is now my 3rd time needing to use the computer as a scanner, and so I begin my search again.  HP created the problem by not putting a scan button on the machine, now HP needs to fix the problem so that all consumers can easily do what should be able to be done by pressing a button....just my thoughts.

I believe I may be the woman in her 70s you mention!  I found a more effective, if rather convoluted, way to scan with this otherwise good printer.  Excuse my lack of proper name knowledge...Left click on the little green window, bottom left of screen.  Scroll down until you come to HP.  Click on it.   (There is also an HP smart link, which worked once for me, but never again! ) Anyway, a screen will come up, and it will say, "print" and "scan."  Hit the scan button and a scan option will come up.  After that pretty straight forward.

Thank you! A variation of what you suggested worked.  Why can't HP make it simple?
