Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

7720
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP Officejet Pro 7720 printer that I have configured to use the scan to email function.  I need to delete one of the email addresses from the list.  Unfortunately, I do not have the PIN anymore and I no longer have access to the email account to request a new PIN.  I have attempted a factory reset of the printer as well as removing the web services.  However, the e-mail addresses return afterwards.

Its my understanding that HP can send instructions privately on how to successfully remove all of the addresses from the printer.  I am requesting this information be sent to me for my printer.

@DanetteBruns, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

When you are facing issues with the HP Officejet Pro 7720, particularly with removing email addresses from the scan-to-email function, it might help to follow these steps. It appears that a factory reset and removing web services did not resolve the issue. Consider trying the following:

Access Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  • Ensure your printer is connected to your network.
  • Open a web browser and type the IP address of your printer.
  • This will open the Embedded Web Server.

Login Page

  • If prompted for a PIN and you no longer have it, resetting the printer settings via EWS might be possible.
  • Look for access options and see if there's an alternate method to access admin settings without the PIN.

Reset Settings

  • If you can access, navigate to Settings > Security.
  • There might be an option to reset the administrator password or security settings.

Remove Email Addresses

  • Navigate to Settings > Email Server.
  • Check the list of email addresses and see if you can remove or reset them.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Garp,

I have tried everything in your message, even resetting to default settings. As soon as I enable web services again, and I go to Scan to Email - it just throws out all my old email addresses. Some of them I have no access to, so I cannot delete them. When I go to the IP Address, there are no contacts listed in my Address Book, see pitcture.01.jpg

But on the printer the list is about 6 email addresses long, 2 of which is still in use and accessible. Please assist,

Hey @DanetteBruns,

Thank you for your response

Let's try this:

Manual Reset of the Email List (via Printer Panel):

Even though you don’t see the contacts in the Address Book on the EWS page, they might still be saved on the printer itself. Try manually clearing them through the printer’s control panel:

On the Printer: Go to the Scan or Scan to Email option.

Select one of the old email addresses (even if they’re inactive).

Try selecting “Delete” or “Remove” from the options available. This should update the printer’s internal list.

Let me know how it goes.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Garp, thanks for the response. This was the first thing I tried. It doesn't work, because when I try to delete an email address, it asks for a code that is sent to that email address, which I have no access to because it belongs to a work my husband previously had. Any other ideas?

Hey @DanetteBruns,

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, it seems there's no way to proceed with deleting the email address since it requires a code sent to that account, which you no longer have access to.

At this point, the best option would be to take it to a service center where they should be able to assist you further with this issue.

Note: There might be a nominal charge for the service they provide.
