Hi @Puzzlez

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Unfortunately, HP does not provide an official option or steps to remove the scanner glass on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e.

However, if you're determined to clean underneath the glass, here are some general guidelines to approach this delicately:

Steps to Clean Underneath the Scanner Glass

Power Down and Unplug

Begin by turning off the printer and unplugging it from the power source. Feel the cool surface of the printer as you prepare to work on it safely.

Locate Screws or Clips

Carefully lift the scanner lid and examine the edges of the scanner bed. You might find screws or clips securing the glass. If screws are present, use a small Phillips screwdriver to gently remove them. Place the screws in a safe spot, hearing the faint metallic clink as they land.

Detach the Glass Frame

If the glass is held by clips, use a flat-head screwdriver or a plastic opening tool to gently pry the frame away. Feel the slight resistance as the clips release, and be cautious not to apply too much force to avoid cracking the glass.

Lift the Glass

Slowly lift the scanner glass, feeling its smooth surface as you handle it with care. If adhesive strips or additional clips are holding it, detach them gently.

Clean the Glass

Use a lint-free microfiber cloth sprayed lightly with ammonia-free glass cleaner. Glide the cloth across the underside of the glass, removing smudges and dust. Watch the glass regain its clarity as you work.

Reassemble the Scanner

Once the glass is clean and dry, carefully place it back into position. Secure it with screws or clips, hearing the satisfying click as everything fits back into place.

Important Notes

  • Proceed with caution, as removing the scanner glass can be delicate and may void your warranty.
  • Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the glass to prevent liquid from seeping into the printer's internal components.
  • If you're unsure or uncomfortable with this process, consider seeking local technicians assistance.

I hope this helps you restore the pristine clarity of your scanner glass. Let me know if you need further guidance! 😊
