9010e and 9020e Both have a computer listed in scan to computer in the control panel.
The computer has died so uninstalling the software is not an option.
Surely there must be a way to remove old computers without factory resetting the printer.
That would mean having to set up the connection and printer on every computer again

@PeterM58, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!
To remove old or non-existing computers from the "Scan to Computer" list without performing a factory reset on HP printers, you can try the following steps:
-
Software Interface:
- Access the HP Printer Assistant or HP Solution Center software on a computer where the printer is still recognized.
- Navigate to the "Scan" settings.
- Look for an option that allows you to manage the list of computers for scan destinations. Remove or edit the entries that refer to the old computer.
-
Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Open a web browser on a device connected to the same network as the printer.
- Enter the printer's IP address in the address bar to open the printer's Embedded Web Server.
- Look for a section related to "Scan to Computer" or "Network" settings.
- Here, you might find an option to manage or update the list of computers associated with the printer.
-
HP Smart App:
- If you have the HP Smart app installed on another device, access the app.
- Go to the printer settings or configuration section.
- Check if there is a "Scan" menu where you can update or remove the list of existing computers.
If these methods do not resolve the issue, you might need to update the printer's firmware using HP's support to ensure any enhancements or fixes to network functionalities are applied.
Take care and have an amazing day!
