Hi,
I'm unable to scan any document with my HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3540 e-All-in-on printer. When i try to scan a document, the scan process keeps going on forever "Now Scanning". Cancel option doesn't stop the scan process and therefore I need to turnoff the printer. Im unable to even copy a document
I tried running the HP print and scan doctor 5.2.1. It fails at "driver check " and "device status" . I tried unplugging the power cord from the printer and restart the PC. I didn't work.
Yesterday, I refilled my ink cartridge. Is this causing problem? Today I installed Microsoft .net 3.5 package. Not sure if this is causing the problem..
Pls help.

Welcome to HP support community.
Check the scanner bar functionality: Lift the scanner lid slightly, and then press the Copy button or icon to start a copy job. If the scanner light does not move or illuminate, the scanner mechanism requires servicing.
If that works fine, update the printer firmware.
Refer this HP document for the steps to update the firmware:- Click here
Let me know how it goes.
