Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Product: HP Printer 9015e
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Server 2019

Our new HP printer is constantly showing a SCANNER ERROR on the touch screen and we have to unplug to reset it to print anything, then it comes back. I have walked through everything the Virtual Assistant recommended, including changing wall sockets, still comes back on. Removed the newly purchased power strip just in case.

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

I understand that you are getting scanner error.

 

Check the scanner bar functionality: partially lift the scanner lid, and then press the Copy button or icon. If the scanner light does not illuminate or move across the glass then it should be a scanner issue.

 

Meanwhile:- 

Update the printer firmware
