Using:
Office jet 8600Pro N911g
OS 10.11.5
Firmware: CKP1CN1545AR (just updated today, Firmware was just posted in the last several weeks)
Print Driver: 4.2.0 (just download today thru "HP Easy Start")
Trying to set up" Scan to network folder" and keep receiving "Connection Failed". In the past I have used SMBUp add on software to scan to folder with the older firmware. After trying all configurations of the Network Path, which didn't work and receiveing several different reasons for not connecting, I turn on SMBUp and it worked. Turned it off and received "Connection Failed".
Setup for Scan to Network:
Computer Name: TGC-IMAC
Network Path: \\TGC-IMAC\HP-SCANS
This works with SMBUp on but not when it is off.
I have been trying to set it up for a year without using SMBUp . I noticed today that new firmare was available and it stated it would "improve" Scan to Network Folder for several versions of OS 10.
What am I missing.....doing wrong etc?
HP you need to work on setting up the config software to look for the path to the computer, then "guiding the user" to the folder he wants to use. The current guessing game and testing has got to go.
The user community was been waiting for YEARS for this fix, and now it still doesn"t seem to work.
Any suggestions or comments would be helpful, especially from HP.
thanks, tom

Problem Solved.....
Came in this AM and tried the test and it WORKED.....The only thing that changed was both the computer and the printer were turn off and started again. Also, scanned a document to the assigned folder.
