After scanning a document, no matter what saving option is selected (JPEG, PDF, TXT, etc.), the save button remains greyed leaving the only option to cancel and exit without saving. It was working fine until I upgraded from OSX 10.11 to macOS 10.12

Hello @RSofNJ, Greetings!
Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel.
I see that you are using MAC Sierra and is experiencing an issue while scanning.
I would recommend you to try using HP Easy scan app to scan in MAC Sierra. Go to http://hp.care/2dVzZC9 to get instruction on how to download and use the HP Easy scan app.
Please let me know whether that works for you. Have a good day!
Cheers 🙂

Thanks. Your solution worked including the OCR (TXT and RTF) options. Apple had suggested using their scanner option that is available on the settings menu of the printer app. It has a better rotation method than HP Scan and HP Easy Scan, because it allows you to type rotation increments, which are essential for OCR, which isn't part of their app. HP should do something similar. HP Easy Scan does show the increment to 0.1 degree, but the UI is very coarse and doesn't allow typing the increment. The Apple program allows multiple decimal places.
