Saving scan as searchable PDF

I have the option to save as a PDF and also an option to save as an editable (OCR) RTF file.   My previous HP scanner allowed me to save as a searchable PDF but I can't see this option on this device.  Can this be done?

I have seen posts that mention installing the HP  Universal Scan Driver, but this option doesn't appear for this model.

 I reinstalled the full software/driver package and now "searchable PDF" appears in the Destination - File Type when saving as a PDF.  That wasn't there before.
