The physical scan button on the newly bought HP ScanJec Pro 2600 f1 not working. Nothing is happening after the button is pressed even if ADF is loaded or the Page in placed on the flatbed. Tried reinstalling the drivers and software, also there is nothing mentioned regarding button in the manual as well.

Hi @b_Prajwal,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the physical scan button on your HP Scanjet Pro 2600 f1 is not working despite reinstalling drivers and software, there could be several potential causes for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check Connections: Ensure that the scanner is properly connected to the computer via USB or any other appropriate connection method. Sometimes loose connections can cause functionality issues.
- Power Cycle the Scanner: Turn off the scanner, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This can sometimes resolve minor technical glitches.
- Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your scanner on the HP website. Updating the firmware can sometimes fix bugs and improve device performance.
- Check for Hardware Issues: Inspect the physical scan button for any visible damage or debris that may be obstructing its function.
- Test with Different Software: Try using a different scanning software to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is related to the scanner hardware or the scanning software you're using.
- Reset Scanner Settings: If possible, try resetting the scanner to its default settings. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to do this.
By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with the physical scan button on your HP ScanJet Pro 2600 f1 scanner.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
