Hello,
After just one year of ownership, and no problems, my scanner (only) has stopped connecting to my computer. I get an error message on both ends. I followed all the recommended steps multiple times, and nothing has resolved the issue. I have reset my printing system in system preferences and installed HP Easy Start 3 times today, and now when I try to do it, it doesn't even recognize that scan is even an option.
None of the other forum questions about the subject have workable answers. Does anyone have a solution for this? Or am I stuck getting a USB cable to connect my printer to the laptop? Will that even work?
I'm particularly irritated that this problem only started the month after my warranty expired.
Thanks

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
- Try making a copy on the printer to check the hardware functionality of the printer.
- Are you using an Anti-virus software on your MAC?
Power resetting the printer and updating the printer firmware may resolve this issue. Let us try these steps:
Step 1: Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Step 2: Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.
