Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Everytime I try to scan to my network folder, it gives me a scan error that states the username and password are incorrect. I've never had to input credentials.

Applicable to printers that support Scan-to-Network folder

Check your folder for Share setup (read / write)

Check the path to the folder

If the destination folder is on your computer, you must be using a login userid and password for the account.

Network folder might be different things, including:

  • A remote folder on your network located (for example) in a NAS (Network Attached Storage) or other similar Drive / device
  • A folder on your local computer that you have set to be Shared
  • A folder on your computer that is in Cloud Storage

In both cases,

  • The destination folder must be available (unit on which the folder is located is on the same network, booted / switched "on").
  • The destination folder must be Shared with read / write access open.  This includes Cloud Storage locations.
  • The destination PATH to the folder location must be one that the printer can identify.  Issues?  Use the destination system's IP address as opposed to a server or computer name.
  • The username / password for the account in which the destination folder is located must be known to the Scan-to-Network folder Profile.
  • In general, the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software should be installed.

Example - EWS - Scan to Network Folder
