When trying to scan the paper into the feeder it stops and says that there was a jam. Is this because the paper is to long? is there a work around to scan long documents with a MFP E57540

I'm having the same problem with a different model scanner intended for Enterprise applications (scan only, high volume). My issues started after a firmware update to fix a bigger problem r/t scanner repeatedly crashing and locking up. Firmware update fixed that, but now can't do Custom length scans.

 

  • I can now not successfully ADF scan long sheets bigger than 11x17.
  • HP Scan software says OK, but scanner seems locked into 8.5x11 size.
  • Additionally, scanner always attempts flatbed sheet FIRST, then must click to add additional page, then ADF picks up long paper.
  • "Jam" then always occurs 17" into the scan.
