We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer

This issue has been outstanding for a while and I just keep rebooting to get the scan to my computer function (on the printer screen) to work.   To be clear .... I want to use the printer Scan function and then Select My PC..   It says Accessing but times out.   The display back says ...

"The selected computer is not available.  Make sure that 1) the computer is turned on.  2) the computer and the printer are properly setup on the same network and 3) The recommended HP printer software is installed and configured on the computer. "

The computer is turned on.   And the Printer is properly setup on the same network.   I am connected solely by WiFi.   I can access the printer to print via WiFi and I can Scan from the PC to the computer using HP Scan.  It's the function from the Printer to the PC that is failing.

Now what I think it is .. is the software on the computer that is going to sleep after a period of time and does not reenable.  I don't put my PC into sleep mode (ever) BTW.

I can see that the software is disabled from the icon in the taskbar which when I select gives me the option to see this interface above

I have read all the previous threads on this issue here on HP and searching other forums.  The answers don't address the issue.  They go down a rabbit hole to fix the Scan function from the PC ... not from the Printer to the PC.   It's a common problem that is only resolved (it seems) by rebooting the PC.   Ideally I want to be able to reenable the Scan to Computer function without rebooting each time.

What I have attempted.
1) reinstalled the software (several times, including a complete uninstall / clean HP products completely / clean reboot into safe mode etc etc.   Makes no difference.   After a period of time the Scan to Computer goes disabled.

2) I've run scan doctor and successfully initiated a scan using the HP Scan software but it doesn't fix Scan to Computer.

3) I've disabled Scan to Computer and renabled.   Still shows unvailable.

4) I've unplugged the Printer and plugged back in a few minutes later.

5) I've disabled WiFi on the Printer and enabled it again.

I don't know what the executable is on computer that shows the above Scan to Computer to stop and restart that.  I've looked for a service to restart but can't see one.   I would have thought the disable and reenable would work but nada.

Yeah I know ... just use the HP Scan and go that way rather than from the scanner to the PC but it just bugs me that this doesn't work consistently and that its been reported but the solutions don't work.  As soon as I reboot its fine until the next time a few days later I try to Scan and then I'm using my other Cannon Scanner to do what I want.   If anyone is reading this from HP and knows the executable for Scan To Computer so I can stop and start that task ... please let me know or some other solution .
