Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

HP OfficeJet 5741 e-All-in-One Printer

I have an HP Officejet 5741 printer and have been using HP Scan and Capture for my scanning.  I realize that program is no longer operable.  How can I easily download a similar program?

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Scan and Capture being no longer available! 

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.  

  

Since HP Scan and Capture is no longer supported, you can switch to the HP Smart app for scanning. It's user-friendly and works well with the HP OfficeJet 5741. Here’s how you can set it up:

 

  1. Download the HP Smart app – You can find it in the Microsoft Store (for Windows) or the App Store (for Mac). Or simply, click here.
  2. Install and open the app – Follow the on-screen prompts to set up your printer.
  3. Start scanning – Once your printer is connected, you can easily scan, edit, and save documents directly from the app.

HP Smart also offers additional features like printing, troubleshooting, and monitoring ink levels—all in one place!
