HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

The Scan and Fax option seems to have disappeared.  I only see Send and Receive and Send Later.  And when I click on Send and Receive, the dialer does not come up. The printer just tries to connect to nothing, then fails.

Hi,

from your description, it seems as the fax does not detect a phone line, you would see such options whenever your phone line is busy, or where there are any phone line condition problems.

Also, can you make a phone call with no issue from a phone connected to the same phone line?

Please unplug the phone cable from the back of the device, restart the printer, check if you can see any different behavior when trying to access the fax menu.

Once verified, please plug the phone cable back to the printer port (1-LINE) and to your active phone line, then check the fax behavior again.

Also, please print and evaluate a Fax Test Report from the printer and let us know its results:

Thanks for your response, but the printer is detecting a phone line.  I was able to send a fax using the Send Later function.  I was able to select what time I wanted to send, the dialer came up and i could enter the phone number.  The printer scanned the page, then at the selected time, it sent the fax.  But the printed report still said, "An image of page 1 will appear here only for faxes that are sent as Scan and Fax."   I have Scan and Fax turned on in my Preferences, but I still don't have the option to select Send Now...just Send and Receive and Send Later.  I did run the fax test and everything passed.  Do you have any other ideas or suggestions?

Also, I just discovered the the printer thinks my phone is off the hook, which it isn't.  I just tried sending another fax using Send Later.  Just before it was time to send, the printer popped up a message saying a fax is scheduled and that the phone should be hung up.  So now, how do I get the printer to know that the phone is not off the hook?

Thanks for clarifying @BDHarris.

Could you please take a picture of the printed Fax Test Report and attach it to your response?

As requested, I'm attaching a copy of my fax test report.  Fax Test Report_Redacted.jpg
