How can I scan and save as searchable PDF, not Basic PDF?
Thanks

Hi @AngeloD,
OCR capabilities are no longer included with the full feature software but should install separately with the HP Universal Scan software as described by below support document:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_6106412-6106481-16
Please install the HP Universal Scan Drivers below, upon completing the installation OCR capabilities would be added to the HP Scan software:
@Dragon-Fur- I hope that fully answers your question too 😉
Cheers,
Shlomi

Yes, it confirms that the OCR is removed, even when not mentioned.
I removed my post as incorrect / not relevant.
Thanks.
Update / Edit
Just checked again - this printer - like others I've checked recently, appears to Not have access to the elusive HP Universal Scan software
Perhaps I am still missing something important - I don't where to find the HPUS software when it is not listed in Software and Drivers.
Software and drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 All-in-One Printer
Checked Windows 10 and Windows 11
I do think I remember seeing the HPUS software listed for a laser printer (can't remember which one).
Regardless, the software for a laser printer is useless in this context, of course.

HP printers - Scan as Editable Text (OCR) with HP Scan (Windows)
True? The recommendation in the document is useful in context of the particular printer supporting the HP Universal Scan software.
Are we then back to offering "other possible options" (downloaded / purchased / free)?
