Hello, I have a HP Officejet 8620 that is connected to my Dell Optiplex 9010 via USB. When I press the scan button on the printer, it yields the message "The printer is not connected to the network" message.
The scanning functionality works as I am still able to scan using the software. The weird thing is that it used to work and now it doesn't. This is what I've tried:
-restarted printer and computer
-unplugged and reinsert usb cable
-ensured printer has latest firmware
-uninstalled/reinstalled print drivers
-ran HP print and Scan Doctor 5.1
-ensured Windows is up-to-date
-ensured Dell Optiplex 9010 system drivers/BIOS up-to-date
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I suggest you perform a Semi Full Reset
Since these steps are specific to your printer I'll be sending the instructions in a private message

Next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope
