Hi @Kat365,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with your scanner  where it feeds through both sides of a document but only scans the first page.

Please help us with the Printer serial number or the product number on a private message for further assistance.

Here is the link to find the product number:- Click here

In the meantime,Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you adjust the settings so that both sides of the document are scanned:

Step 1: Check Scanner Settings

  1. Open your scanning software on your computer. This could be the software that came with your scanner or a third-party application you are using to manage scans.
  2. Look for the scan settings or preferences menu. This is often found under tabs like 'Settings', 'Configuration', 'Preferences', or 'Properties'.

Step 2: Adjust Duplex Scanning Options

  1. In the settings menu, search for an option that mentions 'Duplex', '2-Sided', 'Double-Sided', or 'Dual Scan'.
  2. Enable Duplex or Double-Sided Scanning. Make sure this option is checked or turned on. This setting allows the scanner to scan both sides of a page.

Step 3: Set Document Feeder as Source

  1. Ensure that the document feeder is selected as the source for scanning rather than the flatbed. This option is usually under 'Scan Source' or 'Paper Source'.
  2. Choose the option like 'ADF Duplex', 'Feeder (Duplex)', or similar, indicating the automatic document feeder with two-sided scanning capability.

Step 4: Test the Scanner

  1. Place a double-sided document into the feeder.
  2. Initiate a test scan to see if both sides of the document are now being scanned.
  3. If only one side is still being scanned, there may be an issue with either the hardware or the software settings.

Step 5: Consult the Manual

  1. Refer to the user manual for your scanner model 9018e. Sometimes specific models have particular settings or steps that are unique.
  2. The manual can often be found online by searching for the model number and the word 'manual' or 'user guide'.

Step 6: Update Software/Drivers

  1. Ensure that your scanner's drivers and software are up to date. Visit the HP website, find the support section, and check for the latest software version for your scanner model.
  2. Download and install any available updates, as these can fix bugs or compatibility issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
