We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I used to be able to scan from the ios HP Smart app but recently when I click on the scan option it reports that the printer is not available. I connect to the printer using WiFi Direct and when I look at the printer settings it reports that the printer is available and shows me the correct ink levels and other information. So I’m able to connect to the printer. I’m also able to scan from the printer’s control panel and have it send me the scan via email so the printer is able to get out to the network. The printer is connected to my home network via a wireless connection though I’ve found that connecting to it via AirPrint usually fails which is why I connect via WiFi Direct. I’m able to print using the HP Smart app.

I actually found that it started to work after I powered the printer off and powered it back on. I didn’t change any other configuration values, In addition I can now connect to the printer via my home lan connection whereas I previously had to connect via WiFi Direct. So although I don’t know why this is now working, I’m not complaining and I was able to initiate and scan a number of documents from the IOS HP Smart app. My IPad is running iOS 11.2.5

  • When was the last time the printer was working fine?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
