Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

LaserJet Pro MFP M276nw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

MFP worked fine for several years than for no reason the scan function no longer works from computer.  I uninstalled and reinstalled software from both original disc and download but always the same problem - Scan to option under HP from Window icon on desktop has disappeared and Scan function does not produce any result.  After the last attempt to install software, I try to use  HP Smart -Scan and I get a message "Scanning is currently unavailable".  On HP Smart - Home, the picture shown the unit is Ready with a green check.

When I try to scan from MFP, Windows fax and scan opens up and I can scan OK, but only in a picture format.

I ran the utility and it said it fixed the problem with the scanner, but didn't tell me what was fixed and still the scan function did not work.  I tried Print Doctor utility from website and it stops at SCAN - with message the "tool is unable to find the HP Scan application software in computer".  then it tells me to reinstall the software, which I already tried 5 times to no avail.  Window Image Acquisition under Services(Local) is Running and set to Automatic.

Again un-installed software, check Registry and everything looks good for a re-installation of software.  After re-installing software and having the same problem again I have decided that the manufacturers scanner software no longer work with this printer for me.

Is it possible to use a 3rd party scanning software package when the scanner is part of a MFP (HP MFP M276nw)?

If yes, can anyone recommend an inexpensive 3rd party scanning software package that will work with this MFP.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Let me know if this helps.
