macOS 10.15 Catalina

I have repeatedly tried to connect my printer via Easy Scan and can print with no problem.  When I try to scan, I go to Finder, press GO, select Applications and click on Easy Scan.  My printer name appears correctly, but when I press Scan I get a message that says printer is currently not available.  I have rebooted, re-installed many times and tried every suggestion, but still cannot scan.

Assuming this is a new issue since you upgraded to Catalina:

It's not you - it's Easy Scan and Catalina.

 

For the moment, please use Image Capture for Scanning.

 

Details

 

Scanning is not yet fully supported in Catalina.

 

Read the information in the support document: 

HP Printers - HP Easy Scan Is Not Currently Supported in macOS Catalina.

 

Essentially:

Image Capture (also) supports scanning documents - details are included in Step #5

 

HP is aware of the issue and will release a fix when it is available.

Thank you for your response.  I trust the issue will be fixed soon.  Also, Image Capture doesn't recognize my printer.  This has been a day...
