We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP Envy 120 (CZ022A)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Envy 120e scanner only produces random vertical colored lines. They are displayed on the AIO  LCD preview screen, and/or the host computer preview, so it is scan issue, not a printing issue.

The scanning sensor moves smoothly as expected.

This is EXACTLY the same problem as reported by Annie_kay on 11-06-2018 and Lkszr on 03-24-20.  They both included pictures that show exactly the same issue I am having.

There are other oddities.

(1) The LCD buttons and tabs that show, work perfectly. Therefore there is nothing mechanically wrong with the LCD.  However,  I can no longer swipe left/right to show additional features. (I don't use the additional features, so it is moot, but odd.)

(2) The Printer status shows the firmware version is  SCP1CN2002AR,

The only firmware version available on the HP support page is 1817A.

Version 1817A will not install.  The installer software shows "Not applicable".  This is, of course,  incorrect because 1817A is latest and only version available from HP.  (Perhaps the installer thinks a later version is already installed because 2002 is a higher number than 1817.?.)

(3) The problem started after exactly 500 scans, (as per the Printer status page.

@dls429, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If you have already performed the steps from the document HP Printers - Resolving Copy Problems and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
