Welcome to HP Support Community, @Attila31
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
1. Check the Document Feeder
Ensure the paper is loaded correctly in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
Adjust the paper guides so they fit snugly against the paper edges.
Avoid loading wrinkled or curled pages.
2. Verify Document Placement on Scanner Glass
When scanning from the flatbed, align the document properly with the paper guides or alignment marks on the glass.
Make sure the document is flat and not overlapping the edges.
3. Perform Scanner Calibration
Like printers, scanners may need calibration to maintain proper alignment.
Check your printer or scanner settings for a calibration or alignment option and run the process if available.
4. Clean the Scanner Surface
Dust, fingerprints, or smudges on the glass can cause misalignment or image distortion.
Clean the scanner glass and the white backing with a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or glass cleaner (avoid spraying directly).
5. Update Firmware and Drivers
Outdated software may cause scanning inconsistencies.
Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest firmware and drivers for your printer/scanner model.
6. Try a Different Scanning Software
If the issue persists, try scanning using another application (e.g., HP Smart, Windows Fax and Scan, or a mobile app) to check if it’s software-related.
7. Check Paper Quality and Type
Use high-quality, standard-weight paper that meets your printer specifications.
Thin or textured paper may feed unevenly, causing skewed scans.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
