Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is a Laserjet Pro MFP M148DW and I am trying to scan an old photo from when I was a kid and the quality of the scan is terrible. It looks like the scanner is not capable of retrieving the full spectrum of colors. I picked the photo template and tried different resolutions. Scanning documents works great, it is just the photos that are not good. Is there a setting somewhere for better colors?

I also tried playing with the Saturation settings. Maybe this type of system is not good with pictures.

Hi @send2mark

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand the scan quality is not satisfactory. I'd be happy to assist you.

  • Have you tried scanning different photos and check if the issue persists?
  • Which application are you using to scan?
  • Try making a copy of the same photo and check if the issue persists.

To know how to improve the scan quality, kindly refer to this document.
