Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

I recently installed an HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e printer and it seems that the scan to computer function is disabled for my MacBook Pro laptop.  Is there a way to enable this function or is it disabled because this function is not available for Mac laptops?  If it isn't available for Mac, that would seem odd since my last HP OfficeJet printer supported that function.
