When I initiate a scan from my printer to the computer, I get an error message that says that there is either no connection or that the scan application on the computer is currently in use.
I can scan normally when using the HP Scan SW App initiated from my computer. I can scan normally from the printer to a memory device connected to the printer.
The HP Print & Scan Doctor SW says everything is up to date and OK.
Any ideas?

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
Yuo need to ensure that you have the FULL feature software installed first and then enable the Scan to Computer feature.
If you have not installed the FULL feature software, the following resource will help you :
HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL50403/mp-150580-2/hppiw.exe
How to Scan to Computer
Once you have installed the software:
1. Click on the printer Icon (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP Printer Assistant.
2. Under the Scan menu, there is a “Manage Scan to Computer”, click on that.
3. Make sure that you “Enable” Scan to Computer. Also make sure the tab “Automatically start Scan to Computer when I log on to Windows” is checked if you want to make this feature permanent. (the following video will show you how)
Scan to Computer
If that doesn't work, we'd suggest that you Uninstall and then Reinstall the FULL feature software.
Hope that helps!

Scan to computer is now working after downloading and reinstalling the Full feature SW.
I had previously downloaded and run several times the HP Print & Scan Doctor. It always told me that everything was AOK.
