Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

HP Smart Tank 7602 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 11

Up until yesterday I was able to scan to my computer.

Now there is an error message: Scan to Computer
Webscan
You cannot use this function because it has been disabled. For more information, contact the person who set up the printer.

I am the account holder and there is no way to change this.

The other error message I get when I am in the HP Smart app and click on scan (as I do daily until today) is below:

There haven't been any updates or changes on my OS Windows 11 pro.

Please advise as only one of the posts about this issue is most recent from months ago and doesn't address the concern either.

Hi @Jenswork,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with the HP Smart app or the Webscan feature settings. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Re-enable Webscan in the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Open a web browser on your computer.
  • Type your printer's IP address into the browser's address bar and press Enter. (You can find the IP address on your printer's control panel, usually in the Network settings or by printing a network configuration page.)
  • Log in to the EWS. If prompted, enter the username and password. The default username is usually "admin", and the password might be "admin" or blank.
  • Navigate to the Settings or Security tab.
  • Look for Administrator Settings or Webscan from EWS and make sure Webscan is enabled.
  • Save the changes and exit the EWS.

Restart the HP Smart app:

  • Close the HP Smart app completely.
  • Reopen the HP Smart app and try to scan again.

Check for HP Smart app updates:

  • Open the Microsoft Store on your computer.
  • Search for the HP Smart app.
  • If an update is available, install it and restart your computer.

Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app:

  • Uninstall the HP Smart app from your computer.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Reinstall the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store and set up your printer again.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:  HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website. This tool can help diagnose and fix issues with scanning.

Check Windows Firewall and Antivirus settings:

  • Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the HP Smart app or the printer's IP address.
  • You can temporarily disable the firewall or antivirus to see if it resolves the issue.

Refer to this document: HP Smart Tank 7602 All-in-One User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
