Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP Officejet Pro 8610
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been having trouble to use the scan to computer function on our Pro 8610 for some time now. Our one PC which was the one we originally had setup for using the scan to computer function was having trouble connecting to the printer when trying to diagnose. We have used the HP troubleshooting softwares, to delete and reinstall the main software and did many different windows 10 fix-it options. After all those attempts, we are still at the same problem. It still prints and you can scan using the HP Smart app, however the scan to computer option on the all in one printer doesn't work to this PC.

We decided to install the software on one of our other office PC's and was able to have the HP Office Pro 8610 (network) HP Printer Assistant detect the printer now and was able to enable 'Manage Scan to Computer' from the settings on that PC. However we noticed we can't seem to create profiles anymore through the PC's software to have presets like DPI settings, automatic location to save the file on the computer, etc. Are these functions/settings no longer available?

Back to our other PC (original one we used). Any other help there to be able to scan to that PC would be appreciated. We've tried everything the troubleshooting software said to do, from changing the detection settings in windows background settings and deep cleaning of removing existing HP files, etc.

Hi @jenitrick

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "unable to scan to the computer and how to change scan settings"

To better assist you- What application are you using to scan, HP Scan App or HP scan from the printer assistant page?

Meanwhile, Let's perform a root level uninstallation on the original windows and then install the drivers.

uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
--->Select your HP printer.
--->Select Uninstall.
--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
--->Click on the Drivers tab.
--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
--->Select OK.
--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
--->Close Devices and Printers.

 then, download and reinstall the printer full-featured drivers from Software and Driver Downloads

To change the resolution try the below steps:

Full Feature Software:

Start the Printer Assistant (desktop icon named for your printer) >

Select Scan a Document or Photo >
Select Photo to File > Under Resolution, in the Drop down menu >
Adjust the dpi as desired > CHECK Show scan Preview >
Click Scan

And also refer to how to scan

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
