HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e All-in-One Printer

I just bought my HP All-In-One Printer/Scanner, etc.  It worked great to scan directly from the Scanner to my Dropbox simply by selecting the appropriate options on the Printers Screen.  But a month later, the scan to Dropbox function says it has successfully accomplished the scanning to Dropbox, but in actuality, no file appears in the HP Smart Folder where all the others went.  HP support tried to assist, and we even reset the Printer back to factory settings, but that only caused the "Scan to Cloud" function to disappear and we can't get it back.  So now we have the missing functionality, PLUS files not actually scanning to Dropbox or HP Smart folder.

Hi @ObedientStorm73

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That’s frustrating—especially since it worked fine before! Based on similar cases, here are some steps to troubleshoot:

Steps to Fix Scan to Dropbox & Restore Scan to Cloud:

Reconnect Dropbox in HP Smart

  • Open HP Smart and go to Connected Accounts.
  • Remove Dropbox and re-add it, ensuring permissions are granted.

Check File Destination Settings

  • In HP Smart, verify that the scan destination is correctly set to the Dropbox folder.
  • Try scanning manually and saving to Dropbox to see if the issue is with automatic uploads.

Restore Scan to Cloud

  • If resetting removed Scan to Cloud, go to HP Smart > Printer Settings > Web Services.
  • Enable Web Services and check if Scan to Cloud reappears.

Update the firmware on an HP printer:

  • HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.
  • Click on the link below for step-by-step instructions on how to update the firmware of your printer:

Check HP Smart Folder Permissions

  • Ensure the HP Smart Folder has proper read/write permissions.
  • Try saving a file manually to confirm Dropbox sync is working.

Factory Reset & Reconfigure

  • If nothing works, perform another factory reset, but this time set up Scan to Cloud first before reconnecting Dropbox.
