When I try to scan to email I get error message password or user name is incorrect. Make sure they are valid. I've gone to the HP Embedded Web Server page and checked my settings and they are correct as well as my email address and password. Extremely frustrating as this was working fine for years.
SMTP Server- smtp.**bleep**
SMTP Port 465

Hi,
What email service do you use? please add some character as the spam filters will likely block a such (e.g. Yah-hoo, Gma-il)?
This is likely related with your email security settings, so this would be a crucial piece of information to resolve such a problem.
Cheers,
Shlomi

Thanks for clarifying,
Try following below guidelines to create an App Specific Password and use it instead the default email password for the printer, then it should authenticate successfully:

I am having the same error message. How do you find the HP Web Server page to see if everything is good? I am not very tech savvy, so if you have pictures if it is complicated, that would be great. If not, written directions are great.
Thanks so much,
Terry

I am also having the same issue. I don't know how to do what you are saying. Specific instructions would be very helpful. I use **bleep**, and have finally gotten it to send a scan to my **bleep**, I think because I added my **bleep** to the HP Smart App's Shortcut App. But, when I try to add my work email, which is a school address ending in @xxxxxx.k12.or.us it says it is an invalid email, so it won't let me add it, and therefore, I can't send a scan to my work email. Also, even sending to my **bleep** takes FOREVER! It spins and spins with every click. This is TOO TIME CONSUMING. I hope there is a better fix and if you have any directions, I would love to see them.
Thanks,
Terry

Have you tried following the steps?
Please give it a try and check how it goes, for my experience this should likely help.
