Scanning worked perfectly on my Desktop PC (Windows 7) and my Laptop (also Windows 7) for a couple of years.  Now i get a message on the printer when I try to Scan to Network Folder--Scanning was unsuccessful.  Try again.

When I test the folder through the HP Scanning Software on my PC, i get the following error message:  "Error.  Your printer cannot connect the server.  Press "Edit" to correct the server name and address."  I also tried creating and testing a new shared folder direct to the printer web page.

I have spent a couple of days troubleshooting this issue to no avail.  Can anyone help me with this?

@Sharon73,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you ensure that SMB1.0 is enabled on your PC, it might be disabled and require for the printer to connect.

From the Control Panel select Uninstall a Program.

Press on Turn Windows features on or off.

Ensure that SMB 1.0 / CIFS File sharing is checked with a V mark (with all 3 sub options checked), if not expend it and ensure all its 3 sub-options are checked, then follow the steps on screen and reboot your PC, then check whether the issue is resolved.

Please refer to the below video to set up scan to the network folder.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
